During the Environment for Europe Conference, this side event aims to promote implementation of the recommendations of the Environmental Performance Reviews (EPR) of Morocco, North Macedonia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan with a view to enhance the environmental performance of these countries for the benefit of all.
The event will foster the sharing of experiences among countries on best approaches and solutions for efficient and effective application of EPR recommendations, forging partnerships and joining efforts for advancing environmental governance and performance in the reviewed countries and in the UNECE region and beyond. Medium and long-term outcomes would include an increased implementation rate of EPR recommendations in reviewed countries contributing to enhancing environmental protection.
Event participants will contribute to the discussion by sharing good practices for an efficient and effective action in greening the infrastructure, making the tourism sector sustainable, and embracing education for sustainable development. Representatives of donor and financial institutions will be invited to consider proposed solutions for their potential co-financing. Intergovernmental organizations will be encouraged to consider the EPR recommendations in developing national programmes and activities.
