In accordance with General Assembly decision 73/546 and as agreed by participating States at the First Session of the conference on the establishment of a Middle East zone free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, the second session will be held in New York from 29 November to 3 December 2021.
The opening meeting will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, 29 November 2021, and will be held at the United Nations Headquarters (room to be decided at a later date due to COVID-19 situation).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, civil society participation at the conference is taking place virtually/online, taking into account the safety and health guidelines implemented at the United Nations Headquarters. There is no expectation of travel to the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Any side events will take place fully virtually. The exact format of the session will be determined by Member States in the run up to the Conference
