The Investment, Enterprise and Development Commission was established in 2008 at UNCTAD XII.
It combines the mandate of the previous Commission on Investment, Technology and Related Financial Issues with responsibility for enterprise and information and communication technology (ICT) issues from the previous Commission on Enterprise, Business Facilitation and Development.
It is an important annual United Nations gathering of investment and technology stakeholders worldwide, which brings together member States, investment promotion and technology agencies, the business community, academia and civil society.
