Regional consultations of National Mechanisms for Implementation, Reporting and Follow-up (NMIRFs)- Arabic-speaking countries

HRC resolution 42/30 requested the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (hereafter OHCHR) “to organize five regional consultations to exchange experiences and good practices relating to the establishment and development of national mechanisms for implementation, reporting and follow-up, and their impact on effective implementation of human rights obligations and commitments, in consultation with all relevant stakeholders.”

Originally planned to be held in Paraguay, Ethiopia, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon and Thailand, the consultations will take place remotely due to the prevailing circumstances.

The consultation organized on 29-30 November will suit time zones compatible with Middle East and North Africa. Day 2 is open to NGOs, NHRIs and other relevant stakeholders. They will be held with interpretation in English and Arabic. The online platform will provide captioning. The link to the meeting will be sent to registered participants.
