Baltic Appeal to the United Nations
17 September 2021 - 8 October 2021
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Baltic States’ accession to the League of Nations and the 30th anniversary of their accession to the United Nations, the Permanent Missions of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are jointly organizing an exhibition entitled “Baltic Appeal to the United Nations” featuring their diaspora’s decades-long campaign in support of the admission of the Baltic countries to the UN.
The exhibition “Baltic Appeal to the United Nations” includes a historic retrospective on one of the most influential Baltic exile organization, BATUN, that supported Baltic aspiration for freedom from the 1960s to the restoration of independence of the Baltic States in 1991 and advocated for their admission to the United Nations.
The exhibition consists of roll-ups, which will be complemented by four vitrines presenting documents related to Baltic States and the League of Nations, selected by the Library&Archives.
