World Hearing Forum - Global Advocacy Workshop

In July 2017, WHO announced the creation of a World Hearing Forum, a global network of stakeholders promoting ear and hearing care worldwide. The aim of this forum would be to promote and support the implementation of the 2017 WHA resolution on prevention of deafness and hearing loss. The World Hearing Forum will fill a critical gap by bringing a collective vision to advocacy and collaboration in this field. Its members will include representatives of Disabled People’s Organizations; governments; nongovernmental organizations, including those in official relations with WHO; development agencies; academic institutions, such as WHO Collaborating Centres; and professional societies. The Forum will drive a global advocacy initiative that will provide a common platform and narrative for all stakeholders to collaborate and raise awareness about the need and means for ear and hearing care.
