About the exhibition:

The Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan presents the art exhibition “Another Side of Us” by a group of Afghan women artists living across Europe.

This exhibition will highlight the experiences and the general situation of women in Afghanistan to the world as part of the discussion on human rights. It aims to raise awareness on the current situation of women in Afghanistan, and empower the new generation of women in expressing themselves on their own problems and suffering.

War in Afghanistan; like any other country, deeply impacted women’s daily lives. Today, feminist currents are working on changing the perception of women in the afghan society, and raise awareness on their situation to the world in order to open a discussion on gender inequality in Afghanistan and empower future generations of women.

These 7 women, share almost the same experience when it comes to being a woman in Afghanistan before they all relocated to Europe. This decision was in some cases due to the security incident they faced because of their status as women.
