The sixth round of formal consultations on the global compact for refugees will take place in room XVII of the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
The formal consultations are the last step in the development of the global compact on refugees. They follow the early application of the CRRF in different contexts; five thematic discussions held with a range of stakeholders in the second half of 2017; and the tenth annual Dialogue on Protection Challenges in December 2017, which was an important stocktaking opportunity. The draft of the global compact on refugees takes into account the recommendations, good practices and lessons learned that emerged.
During the consultations, delegates will have an opportunity to provide their comments on the latest draft of the global compact on refugees, which will serve as the basis for discussion. Additional information relating to the consultations will be shared shortly and made available on the following website: www.unhcr.org/formalconsultations.
