Social Work and Youth—Towards Inclusive Sustainable Development (World Social Work Day 2018 at the UN Geneva)

World Social Work Day has been celebrated around the globe since 1983. This year, the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) is again teaming up with the Geneva School of Social Work and its international partners to mark the Day at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG).

This year, the international theme of World Social Work Day is “Promoting Community and Environmental Sustainability” which the Geneva event will address under the banner of “Social Work and Youth. Towards Inclusive Sustainable Development”. This year’s celebration will be a 2-day event at which expert speakers will come together with participants in interactive workshops to debate how to leverage the values and tools of social work to enable young people to thrive and contribute to building equitable, inclusive and sustainable communities at the local, national and global levels.  Learn more...

La Journée internationale du travail social (JITS) a été célébrée dans le monde entier depuis 1983. Cette année, l'Institut de recherche des Nations Unies pour le développement social (UNRISD) fait à nouveau équipe avec la Haute école de travail social de Genève et ses partenaires internationaux pour marquer la Journée à l'Office des Nations Unies à Genève.

La célébration de Genève se tiendra sur deux jours, et abordera le thème de la durabilité communautaire et environnementale sous la bannière « Travail social et jeunesse : ensemble vers un développement durable et inclusif ». Des échanges et des débats auront lieu lors de sessions plénières, de tables rondes et d’ateliers interactifs sur la façon de tirer parti des valeurs et des outils du travail social pour permettre aux jeunes de prospérer et de contribuer à bâtir des communautés équitables, inclusives et durables aux niveaux local, national et mondial.  En savoir plus...
