DESCRIPTION:Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are among the countries 
 most exposed to climate related shocks. As strong El Niño conditions will
  peak towards the end of 2026\, many SIDS face heightened risks of drought
 s\, floods and cyclones which\, in turn\, would cause disruptions to livel
 ihoods and agrifood systems. These challenges underscore the urgent need t
 o strengthen preparedness and act before shocks materialize or escalate. J
 oin us for a dedicated briefing that explores strengthening local capaciti
 es\, enhancing preparedness for anticipatory action and response\, as well
  as building partnerships that enable timely and effective support when na
 tural hazards occur. The discussion will highlight practical experiences a
