DESCRIPTION:From Needs to Action: Readiness and Finance Pathways for LDCs\
 , SIDS\nBackground\nThe ESCAP-hosted forum\, organized in collaboration wi
 th the UNFCCC\, will bring together country practitioners\, regional insti
 tutions\, climate-finance experts\, development banks\, funds\, investors 
 and implementation partners to examine a practical question: How can count
 ries move more effectively from identified climate needs and priorities\, 
 through readiness and project development\, to finance and implementation?
  Drawing on experience from several initiatives\, partners and funds\, the
  discussion will focus particularly on LDCs and SIDS\, as well as other co
 untries facing severe constraints.\nThe event will:\n\nExamine the practic
 al institutional and capacity barriers that arise before and during readin
 ess\;Showcase the latest research Rethinking Readiness and guide Practic
 al Guide to Readiness\;\nShare practical experience from selected country/
 project examples\;\nExplore how readiness can connect more effectively wit
 h project preparation\, investment promotion and finance\; \nEngage regio
 nal institutions\, climate funds\, MDBs\, bilateral partners and private/i
 nstitutional finance actors\;\nIdentify practical opportunities for follow
 -up and partnership.\n\nThe emphasis throughout will be on using and conne
 cting existing mechanisms more effectively\, rather than creating addition
