DESCRIPTION:Further to the notification shared last week regarding the opp
 ortunity to apply to participate in the Regular Process Workshop to be hel
 d in Dar es Salaam\, Tanzania\, from 28 September to 2 October 2026\, in 
 support of the implementation of the fourth cycle of the Regular Process f
 or Global Reporting and Assessment of the State of the Marine Environment\
 , we are pleased to inform you that a complementary activity is being plan
 ned for UNNF Alumni from island States in the Indian Ocean region.\nThis 
 activity will be organized in conjunction with the Regular Process Worksho
 p and will provide an opportunity for selected alumni to: \n\nActively par
 ticipate in the workshop\nEngage in discussions between the UNNF Team and 
 Alumni on the implementation of the outcomes of the Island States Ocean Su
 mmit\, held in Tokyo in June 2026\nExplore how the UNNF Alumni Network can
  support the Nippon Foundation Island States Initiative\, through our capa
 city-building programmes.\n\nFor the purposes of participation in the Regu
 lar Process Workshop\, we are seeking alumni who are actively working in o
 ne or more of the following areas:\n\nBlue economy and finance\nGender and
  the ocean\nIndigenous\, traditional and local knowledge (ITLK)\n\nPlease 
 note that participants will be expected to present a national case study o
 n the science-policy interface. We are also seeking two participants who c
 an present a regional perspective on the science-policy interface.\nWe wil
 l be able to support the participation of 10 UNNF Alumni from island Sta
 tes in the Indian Ocean region  through this activity\, in addition to any
  alumni who may be selected through the application process outlined in th
 e notification for the Regular Process Workshop. \nIf you have already app
 lied though that application process\, you are welcome to also apply to th
 is specific UNNF Alumni opportunity through this form by Sunday\, 30 Augus
