DESCRIPTION:\nEmerging advances in science and technology are creating pra
 ctical tools that support the object and purpose of the BWC.  Held on the
  margins of the Ninth session of the Working Group for Strengthening the C
 onvention\, this multistakeholder dialogue showcases concrete\, applied 
 use cases (from screening and risk-assessment platforms to institutional s
 elf-evaluation tools) that strengthen biosecurity\, technical assessment
 \, and biorisk governance. Technical experts\, and speakers from researc
 h organizations\, and international bodies will present insights grounde
 d in operational experience and current technological practice\, illustrat
 ing how these tools can inform confidence-building and transparency in sup
 port of the Convention. \n\n\n \n\n\nThis event is organized as part of 
 UNIDIR’s Science and Technology Watchtower project\, and in collaboratio
 n with the Biological Weapons Convention Implementation Support Unit and i
 ts joint series of Technical Briefs on emerging technologies and the Biolo
