Information for Media/Press personnel

Media accreditation for Part II of the 31st Session of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) is strictly reserved for members of the press (print, photo, radio, television, film, news agencies and online media) representing bona fide media organizations. No media pass will be issued to applicants whose request does not conform to the established procedure.

The ISA Communications Unit must be satisfied that applicants are professional journalists representing official media organizations formally registered in a country recognized by the United Nations General Assembly. Media organizations must demonstrate editorial oversight and provide a verifiable street address and telephone number (P.O. Boxes are not accepted). Accreditation is granted based on a demonstrated track record of reporting on environmental issues and/or international affairs.

Media accreditation is not granted to advocacy or communications outlets of non-governmental or non-profit organizations.

Double accreditation (press and delegate/observer) is not permitted.

Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Decisions of the ISA Communications Unit are final.

Applicants must submit their applications, along with the requested documents, no later than 17:00 hrs (Jamaica time) on 1 July 2026.

For further information, please contact the ISA Communications Unit at news@isa.org.jm.

The approval of registration through Indico does not constitute formal acceptance of credentials, which remain subject to consideration by the Secretary-General (for Council meetings) and the Credentials Committee (for Assembly meetings).
