  has pleasure of inviting you to take part in a reception to mark the laun
 ch of UNIDIR’s Centre of Excellence on AI\, Peace and Security\, which w
 ill take place at the Restaurant des Délégués\, Palais des Nations\, on
  Wednesday\, 17 June 2026 from 18:00 to 19:00.\nThis reception will bring 
 together representatives from Permanent Missions in Geneva\, along with pa
 rtner UN agencies and Geneva-based institutions focusing on artificial int
 elligence in the context of international peace and security. Participants
  will hear from UNIDIR\, State Secretary Alexandre Fasel of Switzerland\, 
 and selected representatives of our founding partners\, to learn more abou
 t the work and value of the centre.\nUNIDIR’s Centre of Excellence on AI
 \, Peace and Security has been established to help ensure continuity and c
 oherence across the growing number of initiatives at the international\, r
 egional and national levels. It will bring together governments\, industry
 \, academia and civil society to encourage inclusive global engagement. It
  will also provide practical\, evidence-based guidance to support the gove
 rnance of AI in the military and security domains\, in line with the Insti
 tute's mission to build a more secure world.\nIt would be a great pleasure
  to welcome you on this occasion and to introduce you to the centre and it
