DESCRIPTION:The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA)\, 
 in collaboration with the National Convenor for Food Systems Transformatio
 n in Sudan\, and the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD)
 \, are organizing the capacity building workshop “Advancing Coherent Cli
 mate and Food Systems Action in Sudan”. The workshop will bring together
  government officials from food systems\, climate\, environment\, agricult
 ure\, water\, and related sectors\, alongside development partners and tec
 hnical experts\, to strengthen coordination and promote more integrated ac
 tion across these interlinked agendas.\nThis workshop is part of the proje
 ct “Bridging the Climate-Food Nexus: Coherent Climate Action and Food Sy
 stem Transformation for Resili… (2025–2028)\, which aims to support Ar
 ab LDCs in aligning food systems transformation processes with national cl
 imate action plans. The project was officially launched in Amman\, Jordan\
 , on 4–5 December 2025 under the title “Climate and Food: Building Res
 ilient Food Systems in Arab LDCs”\, and convened food systems focal poin
 ts and climate representatives from Djibouti\, Mauritania\, Somalia\, Suda
 n\, and Yemen\, alongside regional and international experts.\nThis worksh
 op in Sudan is the first in a series of three national capacity-building w
 orkshops planned under the project between 2026 and 2028. It marks the beg
 inning of a structured engagement to strengthen national capacities\, fost
 er cross‑sectoral coordination\, and support Sudan in advancing coherent
  climate and food systems action throughout the project’s implementation
