DESCRIPTION: Haiti Food Crisis Update: Needs\, Outlook and Response\nHait
 i continues to face one of the most severe food crises globally\, with mor
 e than half of the population experiencing acute food insecurity\, driven 
 by escalating violence\, economic disruption\, displacement\, and repeated
  climate shocks. Agricultural production has been significantly constraine
 d\, while insecurity and rising costs continue to limit access to food and
  livelihoods\, further eroding households’ resilience.\nForecasts from t
 he World Meteorological Organization indicate a high likelihood of El Ni
 ño developing in 2026\, associated with above-normal temperatures and shi
 fts in rainfall patterns. In Haiti\, where food security and livelihoods d
 epend on rainfed agriculture\, and coping capacities are already severely 
 stretched\, these conditions risk further undermining food production and 
 deepening food insecurity.\nAgainst this backdrop\, FAO and WFP are scalin
 g up operational response to save lives and protect livelihoods. By implem
 enting emergency food assistance alongside rapid agricultural support\, in
 vestments are seeking to restore local food production and reduce reliance
  on negative coping strategies. This briefing will provide an update on th
 e evolving situation\, provide an overview of priority needs\, and highlig
 ht response actions\, including anticipatory action\, at this critical jun
