DESCRIPTION:The Fifth Session of the Committee on Information and Communic
 ations Technology\,  Science\, Technology and Innovation Bangkok\, will b
 e held from 2 to 4 September 2026 in Bangkok.As a subsidiary body of the U
 nited Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESC
 AP)\, the Committee on Information and Communications Technology\,  Scien
 ce\, Technology serves as the intergovernmental legislative forum for adva
 ncing digital connectivity and transformation in the Asia-Pacific region.A
 t the fifth session\, the Committee’s deliberation will be focus on thre
 e key areas\, namely: (a) promoting regional policy dialogue to advancing 
 digital inclusion and transformation\; (b) strengthening regional cooperat
 ion to bridge the digital divide and advancing digital transformation thro
 ugh implementing the action plan of the Asia-Pacific Information Superhigh
 way initiative\, 2027-2030\; and (c) sharing policy experiences and streng
 thening technical capacity on the application of emerging technologies for
  digital transformation.  The Committee session will coincide with the t
 enth session of the Steering Committee of the Asia-Pacific Information Sup
 erhighway\, which will be held on Monday\, 1 September 2026. This event\, 
 along with several side events\, will promote technical knowledge sharing 
 and complement the Committee’s discussions. The session is organized by 
 the Information and Communications Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction
