DESCRIPTION:The SPECA Working Group on Innovation and Technology for Susta
 inable Development (WG on ITSD) is a subsidiary body under the UN Special 
 Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA)\, comprising senior po
 licymakers\, researchers\, decision-makers and other stakeholders in innov
 ation and technology from the seven SPECA participating States\, namely Af
 ghanistan\, Azerbaijan\, Kazakhstan\, Kyrgyzstan\, Tajikistan\, Turkmenist
 an and Uzbekistan.The SPECA WG on ITSD provides a platform to discuss and 
 forge cooperation around\, especially from the perspective of policy and t
 he role of governance\, solutions that innovation and technology have to o
 ffer to benefit from the opportunities of knowledge-based development.The 
 SPECA WG on ITSD looks\, inter alia\, at:·   ICT for development\,·  
  Promotion of innovation and technologies\,·   Promotion of transfer a
 nd commercialization of technologies\, and·  Development of effective in
 frastructure for innovation support and financing\, including through   
   public-private partnerships (PPPs).·  Innovation policies to facilita
