DESCRIPTION:The Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the E
 vent of Armed Conflict is composed of twelve States Parties to the Second 
 Protocol to the Hague Convention of 1954 for the Protection of Cultural Pr
 operty in the Event of Armed Conflict elected in accordance with Article 2
 4 of the Second Protocol by the Meeting of Parties. \nUpon the request of 
 Lebanon\, and as supported by two-thirds of the members of the Committee\,
  in line with Rules 2.2 to 2.5 and 3.3 of the Rules of Procedure of the Co
 mmittee\, an extraordinary meeting of the Committee is scheduled on 1 Apri
 l 2026\, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.\, at UNESCO Headquarters.\nIn line w
 ith Rule 8 of the Rules of Procedure of the Committee\, Parties to the Sec
 ond Protocol that are not members of the Committee\, States non-Parties to
  the Second Protocol that are High Contracting Parties to the 1954 Hague C
 onvention\, and other States that are Members of UNESCO or the United Nati
 ons may attend the sessions of the Committee as observers\, without the ri
 ght to vote. Eminent professional organizations such as those which have f
 ormal relations with UNESCO\, may attend the Committee without the right t
 o vote\, if invited by the Director-General and subject to subsequent conf
 irmation by the Committee.\nIn line with Decision 20 COM 5 of the Committe
 e (UNESCO\, 2025)\, the working languages of 5th extraordinary meeting of 
 the Committee are English and French. Simultaneous interpretation in these
  languages will be provided in plenary sessions. \n\nhttps://indico.un.org
