DESCRIPTION:This official G7 French presidency high-level policy debate is
  jointly organized by UNESCO and France\, under France’s G7 Presidency\,
  in close collaboration with GPE and other partners. \nIt builds on the m
 omentum of the education-focused side event at the Fourth International C
 onference on Financing for Development (FFD4)\, and the joint statement
  by representatives of governments\, public development banks\, philanthr
 opic organizations\, international institutions\, civil society\, and the 
 business sector which highlighted the need to better align education prior
 ities with fiscal frameworks\, debt management\, development strategies an
 d sustainable finance agendas. Convened in a G7 context\, the event offers
  a timely opportunity to continue the dialogue between key stakeholders i
 n education\, development\, and finance\, reaffirming the central role of 
 education in sustainable development. \nThe event is fully aligned with t
 he aid architecture reform agenda promoted by the G7\, i.e. mobilizing a b
 roader and more diversified range of financing\, reducing aid dependencies
  and strengthening effectiveness\, coordination and accountability. In a c
 ontext of constrained public resources and shifting global financing and g
 overnance dynamics\, the education sector offers an insight into how these
  reforms can be translated into efficient sustainable financing solutions.
