DESCRIPTION:\nIn its resolution 5/4\, entitled "Illicit manufacturing of a
 nd trafficking in firearms\, their parts and components and ammunition"\, 
 the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Tra
 nsnational Organized Crime decided to establish an open-ended intergovernm
 ental working group on firearms.\nIn its resolution 7/1\, entitled "Streng
 thening the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Transn
 ational Organized Crime and the Protocols thereto"\, the Conference decide
 d\, inter alia\, that the Working Group on Firearms will be a constant ele
 ment of the Conference of the Parties\, forwarding its reports and recomme
 ndations to the Conference\, and encouraged the working group to consider 
 meeting on an annual basis\, as needed.\nThe thirteenth session of the Wor
 king Group on Firearms is scheduled to take place from 11 to 12 May 2026 i
 n Vienna\, Austria.\nThis year\, the two topics to be discussed will be:\n

 e Firearms Protocol\nImplementation of Article 9 (Deactivation of firearms
