Welcome to the International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF) 2026!
About the Event
The International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum (IVECF) 2026 will take place over two days from 9-10 April 2026, at the historic Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria.
Co-organized by UNIDO, the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria, the Austrian Development Agency and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, in cooperation with other Vienna-based international organizations and partners, the IVECF 2026 will convene global leaders from governments, international organizations, industry, academia, development partners and civil society, under the theme “Powering Prosperity, Security and Stability”.
Over two days, IVECF 2026 will advance the objectives of the UN Pact for the Future - aimed at strengthening multilateral cooperation to address 21st‑century challenges - by formulating a Vienna Call to Action on Sustainable Energy and Climate Security and a Five‑Year Implementation Plan for the Belém Declaration. In doing so, the Forum will reaffirm green industrialization, just energy transition and climate action as cornerstones of shared prosperity, resilience and global stability, while providing substantive inputs to the initial deliberations on the post‑2030 development agenda.
Participation at this event is subject to approved registration. Due to mandatory security screening and photo verification, this process may take an extended period of time.
Structure of the Forum
The IVECF programme is designed around two complementary and interlinked action tracks that run in parallel throughout both days: Global Green Industrialization Dialogue and Country and Regional Implementation.
Through 12 high-level sessions, IVECF 2026 will shape global policy and demonstrate how sustainable energy, just climate action and green industrialization can drive shared prosperity, security and stability, with a strong focus on action and implementation.
The high-level sessions are complemented by a rich programme of side-events and dedicated networking areas organized by IVECF partners that provide in-depth exchanges on conference themes.
