DESCRIPTION:\nThe Asia-Pacific Regional Commemoration is jointly organized
  by ESCAP and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowe
 rment of Women (UN-Women)\, in collaboration with the Office of the Unite
 d Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand.\nThe objective of the Asia-Pac
 ific Regional Commemoration of International Women’s Day 2026 is to spot
 light critical issues for building inclusive societies through legal empow
 erment. The commemoration will provide a platform to review progress\, ide
 ntify gaps\, and share good practices in advancing gender equality in acce
 ss to justice. It will explore policy and programmatic interventions to ad
 dress institutional barriers\, discriminatory laws\, and weak enforcement 
 that hinder women’s and girls’ access to justice across formal and inf
 ormal systems. The discussions will be framed within the context of key fr
 ameworks\, including the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action\, the
  2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Convention on the Elimina
 tion of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.\n\n \nMore information
