Specialized Course on Cultural Heritage, Crime and Security

The 6th edition of the Specialized Course on Cultural Heritage, Crime and Security – Protecting our Past to Invest in our Future – will be delivered online from 8 to 12 June 2026 by UNICRI and The American University of Rome (AUR).

The course adopts an online learning model, allowing participants to attend live lectures through their own devices. This format enables interaction with internationally recognized experts and peers from around the world, fostering the creation of a global professional network.

The Summer School will provide participants with a fundamental understanding of the various dimensions of heritage crime, examining illicit trafficking, looting, and the increasingly evident links between the black market of archaeological goods and terrorism financing. The existing international legal frameworks and security strategies will be analyzed to enhance participants’ ability to protect global cultural legacy and promote their role as advocates for cultural diversity and international peace.

Application deadline: 25 May

Detailed information on entry requirements, certificates of participation, registration fees, and cancellation and refund policies are available on the UNICRI course website.
