The International Symposium on the Future of the Right to Education will be held on 9 December 2025 at UNESCO Headquarters (Paris) to mark the International Human Rights Day and the 65th anniversary of the 1960 Convention against Discrimination in Education (CADE).
The symposium will also serve as the official closing of the eleventh Consultation on the 1960 Convention and the launch of the 2025 Global Report on the Right to Education. It will bring together Member States, civil society, youth, social partners, and experts to take stock of progress, highlight innovations, and address emerging challenges such as digitalization, AI, climate change, inclusion, and displacement.
Through interactive sessions, high-level panels, and thematic discussions, the event aims to renew global commitments, mobilize partnerships, and shape the future of the right to education throughout life.
Interpretation will be provided in English, French, and Spanish, and the symposium will be livestreamed online.
