DESCRIPTION:The seventieth session of the Commission on the Status of Wom
 en will take place from 9 to 19 March 2026. The priority theme of the ses
 sion will be: Ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all women a
 nd girls\, including by promoting inclusive and equitable legal systems\, 
 eliminating discriminatory laws\, policies\, and practices\, and addressin
 g structural barriers. The review theme will be: Women’s full and effec
 tive participation and decision making in public life\, as well as the eli
 mination of violence\, for achieving gender equality and the empowerment o
 f all women and girls (agreed conclusions of the sixty-fifth session)\nDue
  to an observance of an official United Nations holiday\, Eid al-Fitr\, th
 e 70th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place fr
 om Monday\, 9 March - Thursday\, 19 March 2026. No meetings will take plac
 e on UN premises on 20 March as previously scheduled. The closing of the S
 ession will take place on Thursday 19 March.\nThe proposed organization of
  work may be found here. \n\nRegistration is now closed. Registration fo
 r ECOSOC-accredited NGOs was open from 3 October 2025 till 23 January 2026
 . We are unable to accept any late registrations.\nAll approvals had to be
  made by 23 January 2026. It was the responsibility of your ECOSOC-accredi
 ted organization to approve your registration. \nIf your organization has

 to space constraints\, the numbers of attendees to CSW sessions should be 
 kept to a minimum and should not exceed 20 representatives per organizatio

 arge fees for participation in the Commission on the Status of Women sessi
 ons. The United Nations will not pay for any expenses in connection with t

 gements and costs are the exclusive responsibility of participants.\nArran
 gements for the session may be subject to change at any time in response t
 o the global health situation.\n\nWithin United Nations premises\, all per
 sons are required to comply with safety and security regulations\, as well
  as the rules and procedures of the organization. Any act that disrupts th
 e normal functioning of the organization’s programmatic activities\, suc
 h as public displays of any form\, including\, but not limited to\, clothi
 ng\, banners\, placards or other written or visual means\, as well as voca
 l/audio sounds\, gatherings\, or demonstrations of any kind\, including pa
 ssive\, is not allowed.\nAll individuals present on the United Nations pre
 mises are expected to fully cooperate with United Nations security officer
 s at all times. Refusal to comply with applicable regulations may result i
 n temporary detention or removal from or denial of access to the premises 
 in accordance with Section 10 of the United Nations Headquarters Agreemen
 t and ST/AI/2019/5\, entitled “Authority of United Nations Security Of
