Registration form for the Youth Climate Action Webinar Series: Youth Engagement in Climate Negotiations and Intergovernmental Processes of the UNFCCC

On 27 March 2025, the UN Climate Changeโ€™s Regional Collaboration Centre for West and Central Africa (RCC WAC Africa) hosted a Youth Climate Action Webinar Series of which Part I focused on Youth Solutions Shaping and Implementing National Climate Policies. The event focuses on enhancing youth engagement in climate action and aimed at empowering the youths to meaningfully contribute to shaping and implementing climate policies in West and Central Africa. The webinar also served as a valuable platform for young people in the region to showcase initiatives they are championing to address the climate crisis in their respective countries either through policy formulation and/or implementation of climate projects on the ground.

Following the successful completion of this webinar, this next series seeks to deepen young people's understanding about climate negotiation and UNFCCC processes for meaningful youth participation in global climate governance processes.

Young people in West and Central Africa are critical stakeholders in the fight against climate change. However, many remain underrepresented and under-informed about the intergovernmental mechanisms that shape global climate action. By equipping them with knowledge about the UNFCCC negotiation process and related intergovernmental frameworks, this series aims to empower meaningful and informed youth engagement at the international level.
