This Expert Roundtable on Supervising AI by Competent Authorities aims to bring together policy experts, technical specialists, and competent authorities to address the critical operational challenges in implementing effective supervision under the EU AI Act and its interplay with other related legislations. Through focused roundtable discussions on resource allocation strategies, cross-jurisdictional harmonization, testing methodologies, policy trends, and practical testing frameworks, this roundtable aims to reflect and draw insights on the foundations for consistent, efficient, and innovation-friendly supervision across the European Union and beyond.
Participants will contribute to developing actionable pathways for supervisory authorities facing the complex task of overseeing rapidly evolving AI technologies while balancing innovation, fundamental rights protection, and compliance. The insights gathered will inform a comprehensive report on "Operationalising Pathways for AI Supervision" to guide implementation efforts across competent authorities as the final deliverable of the project Supervising AI by Competent Authorities.
