This event will officially mark the addition of the 127 volumes of the Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language to the UNESCO Library, recognizing its great scholarly and cultural value. It will highlight the importance of preserving languages, supporting academic research, and promoting multilingualism as a way to strengthen intercultural dialogue. Taking place on the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, the event will also celebrate Arabic as a cornerstone of cultural identity and knowledge sharing, reaffirming UNESCO’s strong commitment to linguistic diversity and multiculturalism.
