 g of the UNEP Major Groups and Stakeholders\, Africa ahead of the 20th Ord
 inary Session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AM
 CEN-20). AMCEN-20 will be hosted by the Government of the State of Libya i
 n Nairobi\, Kenya from 14 to 18 July 2025. The 20th session also marks the
  40th year since the establishment of AMCEN in Cairo in 1985. \n\n \n\n2
 0th Ordinary Session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environm
 ent (AMCEN-20) \n\n\nTheme: “Four Decades of Environmental Action in 
 Africa: Reflecting on the Past and Imagining the Future.” \n\n\nIn line
  with the above theme\, the Session will focus on (a) AMCEN's achievements
  and challenges since 1985 when it was established\, and (b) strengthening
  AMCEN to address Africa’s environmental challenges.  \n \n\n\nThe Se
 ssion will comprise a technical segment\, a ministerial segment to adopt a
  declaration\, decisions\, and provide policy guidance on Africa’s commo
 n positions on upcoming global environmental meetings and conferences\, an
 d a high-level special session to celebrate AMCEN’s achievements over th
 e last 40 years (AMCEN@40).  \n\n\n \nPurpose of "The 2025 Regional Con
 sultative Meeting\, Africa"\n\n\nThe 2025 Regional Consultative Meeting (R
 CM)\, Africa sought to provide an in-person and virtual dialogic and exper
 t platform for UNEP Major Groups and Stakeholders\, Africa\, and other act
 ors on the environment during a three-day meeting to prepare inputs for th
 e 20th Ordinary Session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Envir
