FEDERATION OF ASSOCIATIONS OF FORMER INTERNATIONAL CIVIL SERVANTS
Celebrating 50 Years of Representing Retirees and Families in 2025
The Federation of Associations of Former International Civil Servants (FAFICS), founded in 1975, is the world-wide umbrella organization uniting the local associations of former staff of the United Nations system of organizations. Our purpose is to represent, defend, and protect the interests of retirees around the world, particularly on matters of pensions, health insurance, and issues related to their lives as retirees.
FAFICS is a non-governmental organization accredited to and in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the Human Rights Council (HRC), and the United Nations Department of Global Communications. In these capacities, FAFICS participates in ECOSOC and HRC meetings and their subsidiary bodies. We also work closely with the United Nations Department of Global Communications. FAFICS also participates in civic forums and other advocacy events in support of the purposes, principles, programmes, and achievements of the United Nations system, where the contributions, experience, and views of former international civil servants may be useful. It also maintains consultative status with the Federation of International Civil Servants’ Associations (FICSA).
