DESCRIPTION:\nIn accordance with General Assembly resolution 79/273 of 6 M
 arch 2025\, the President of the General Assembly will convene an interact
 ive multistakeholder hearing as part of the preparatory process for the fo
 urth high-level meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on the prev
 ention and control of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and the promotion of
  mental health and well-being. \nThe Multi-stakeholder Hearing will take p
 lace on 2 May 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the United Nations Hea
 dquarters in New York\, USA.  Please note that if you hold a UN grounds p
 ass\, you may proceed directly to the venue and do not need to register. I
 f you do NOT have a UN grounds pass\, you must register to obtain a Specia
 l Event Ticket (SET) for entry.\n\n \n\nThe deadline to register is 31 Ma
 rch 2025. \n\n \n\nObjective The multistakeholder hearing will serve as
  an inclusive platform for stakeholders to share their perspectives\, expe
 riences\, and best practices while identifying challenges and proposing ac
 tionable solutions. The discussion will focus on identifying priority acti
 ons to accelerate progress toward achieving SDG 3.4 and identifying concre
 te milestones for a successful high-level meeting on 25 September 2025 and
  its Political Declaration. The hearing will also present an opportunity f
 or Member States and Observers of the General Assembly to engage with stak
 eholders and to be apprised of the progress of the GCM. \n\n\n \nPartici
 pation The hearing will bring together various stakeholders\, including n
 on-governmental organizations with consultative status with the Economic a
 nd Social Council\, invited civil society organizations\, philanthropic fo
 undations\, academia\, medical associations\, and relevant private sector 
 entities. It will also ensure the participation of broader communities\, a
 s well as women\, children\, youth\, Indigenous Peoples\, and people of Af
 rican descent. Furthermore\, it will include organizations representing in
 dividuals affected by NCDs and mental health conditions\, persons with dis
 abilities\, and senior-level representatives from Member States. Observers
  from the General Assembly\, parliamentarians\, local government represent
 atives\, and relevant United Nations entities will also be involved. \nThe
 re will be no pre-established list of speakers for the panel discussions. 
 Participants wishing to take the floor during the interactive discussion a
 re invited to press the microphone button. The time limit will be three mi
 nutes for individual statements and five minutes for statements on behalf 
 of groups. \nThe meeting will be broadcasted on UN WebTV.\n\n\nOutcomes A
 s mandated by General Assembly resolution 79/273\, the President of the Ge
 neral Assembly will prepare a summary of the hearing ahead of the high-lev
 el meeting. \n\n\n \nFormat The multistakeholder hearing consists of an
  opening segment\, two panel discussions and a closing segment. The themes
  for the panel discussions are as follows:  \n\n\n(1) Panel discussion 1:
  Tackling the determinants of noncommunicable diseases and mental health a
 nd well-being through multisectoral and effective governance and collabora
 tive action.  \n\n\n(2) Panel discussion 2: Reshaping and strengthening h
 ealth systems and all forms of financing to meet the needs of people livin
 g with and at risk of noncommunicable diseases and mental health condition
 s.  \n\n\nEach panel will discuss progress being made\, challenges faced\
 , and recommendations to scale up cost-effective and evidence-based action
