 Only)\nDate: 9 -13 June 2025\n \nBackground\n\nThe high-level 2025 United
  Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Developme
 nt Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans\, seas and marine reso
 urces for sustainable development (the 2025 UN Ocean Conference) will be h
 eld in Nice\, France\, from 9 – 13 June 2025\, co-hosted by France and C
 osta Rica.\nThe overarching theme of the Conference is “Accelerating act
 ion and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean”
 . The Conference\, comprising an opening segment\, ten plenary sessions\, 
 ten Ocean Action Panels and a closing segment\,  aims to support further 
 and urgent action to conserve and sustainably use the oceans\, seas and ma
 rine resources for sustainable development and identify further ways and m
 eans to support the implementation of SDG 14. It will build on existing in
 struments to form successful partnerships towards the swift conclusion and
  effective implementation of ongoing processes that contribute to the cons
 ervation and sustainable use of the ocean. The Conference shall adopt\, by
  consensus a brief\, concise\, action oriented and intergovernmentally agr
 eed declaration\, which along with a list of voluntary commitments\, will 
 be referred to as “Nice Ocean Action Plan”.\nThe Conference will invol
 ve all relevant stakeholders\, bringing together Governments\, the United 
 Nations system\, intergovernmental organizations\, international financial
  institutions\, other interested international bodies\, non-governmental o
 rganizations\, civil society organizations\, academic institutions\, the s
 cientific community\, the private sector\, philanthropic organizations\, I
 ndigenous Peoples and local communities and other actors to assess challen
 ges and opportunities relating to\, as well as actions taken towards\, the
  implementation of Goal 14.\n\nRegistration will close on 19 May 2025 at

 isas\n\nIt is the responsibility of the participants to check whether they
  need a visa to enter France.  Registering for the UN Ocean Conference do
 es not exempt participants from obtaining an entry visa to French national
  territory. Kindly note that visas cannot be issued on arrival.\nTo inquir
 e about the need for a visa\, as well as all visa related matters/requirem
 ents\, participants are invited to visit a French consular service or the 
 France Visas portal at https://france-visas.gouv.fr/.  Participants in n
 eed of a visa are advised to submit their applications well in advance bef
 ore departure from the country of origin.  The minimum visa processing t
 ime is 3 weeks. Late submission may make it impossible to process the appl
 ication in time. The status of conference guest or participant also does n
 ot exempt participants from completing the visa application form and provi
 ding the supporting documents required by regulations. Note that this “e
 mail approval” issued by the United Nations may be used as one of the su
 pporting documents for visa application but it does not guarantee entrance
  to France.  Visa approval is subject to further review and process by th
 e French authorities.\nThe visa is free for participants registered by the
  United Nations for the conference from 9 to 13 June 2025\, however\, fees
  may apply for the intervention of authorized local operators to support t
 he logistical management of the submission of applications.\n\n\nhttps://i
