WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific is convening a Sixth Meeting of the Technical Advisory Group on Climate Change, the Environment and Health which will be held on 11 March 2025 through videoconference.

Climate change and environmental hazards − such as air pollution, exposure to hazardous chemicals, and lack of water and sanitation − pose serious threats to the health of people in the World Health Organization (WHO) Western Pacific Region.

Recognizing that technical work in the region follows global action plans and frameworks, the consultation will provide opportunity for member states to feedback on the three global documents as well as comment on two additional agenda items.

The objectives of the CCE TAG meeting are:

(1)    to develop a country support strategy to help Member States prepare their submission to the Western Pacific Surveillance and Response Journal;

(2)   to seek feedback on the three CCE-related global documents to be presented to the World Health Assembly; and

(3)   to seek feedback on the five-year strategy for the WHO Asia-Pacific Centre for Environment and Health in the Western Pacific Region.
