The Information session with States Parties will take place on 8 September 2025 in a hybrid format at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, and online. All States Parties to the International Convention against Doping in Sport are invited to participate. In accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Convention, participation is open to Governmental representatives designated by their respective States Parties.

This session follows the Global Written Consultation (3 February - 14 March 2025) and the four formal meetings of the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG), which were held respectively on: 27 May 2024, 5 September 2024, 6 November 2024, and 6 May 2025, allowing States Parties to inclusively provide input on the reform process of the Convention.

This Information session represents a key step in the reform process by offering States Parties a final opportunity to review the consolidated proposals, share perspectives and seek clarifications before their submission for consideration at COP10 (20-22 October 2025) through the Silent Procedure.

At COP9 (October 2023), States Parties acknowledged the findings of the High-Level Panel of International Legal Experts and, through Resolution 9CP/23, mandated the OEWG to develop final proposals for COP10 in 2025. In line with COP9’s priorities, the OEWG structured its proposals around four priority areas:

·Priority domain I: Strengthening the global sport integrity ecosystem and the relationship between UNESCO and the World AntiDoping Agency (WADA) and between the Convention and the World AntiDoping Code;

·Priority domain II: Establishment of an oversight body to monitor the implementation of the Convention by its States Parties;

·Priority domain III: Enhancement of the Convention’s funding mechanism;

·Priority domain IV: Creation of a mechanism for peaceful settlement of disputes between States Parties to the Convention.
