Advancing Climate Ambition in the Agrifood Sector: Workshop on NDC 3.0 and COP30 Preparation in Asia-Pacific - Opening Program (5 March – afternoon)
With the Asia-Pacific region accounting for a significant share of global agricultural emissions, its success in aligning the agrifood sector with NDC 3.0 is critical. The region must address challenges like methane emissions, deforestation, soil degradation, and
water scarcity while ensuring inclusive growth and equitable transitions. This workshop will focus on equipping countries with the tools to enhance the agrifood sector’s contribution to NDCs and prepare effectively for COP30 negotiations.
This workshop is organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in collaboration with our esteemed partners: the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub, the NDC Partnership, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and the Mekong Institute (MI) with the ASEAN Climate Resilience Network (ASEAN-CRN).
The opening programme will be held on 5 March afternoon at UNCC with the following two days organized at the Movenpick BDMS Wellness Resort Bangkok on March 6 – 7.
