Asia-Pacific Regional Preparatory Meeting for the UN Food Systems Summit +4 (3-5 March, 2025)
Building on the momentum of the UN Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment (UNFSS+2) in 2023, which underscored the role of of sustainable, inclusive, nutritious, and resilient food systems in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UNFSS+4 in 2025 (28-30 July 2025, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) will spotlight successful country-level transformations, highlight innovative practices, and address challenges faced in fragile and conflict-affected settings, and be part of broader efforts to shape a coherent global narrative on sustainable development and accelerate synergies between key SDG transitions.
The objectives of the regional preparatory meeting are to document progress in food systems transformation, strengthening accountability of state and non-state actors and unlocking investments for transformation. The outcome of these regional meetings will be synthesized into regional key messages to be considered for the preparation of the UNFSS+4.
This meeting is co-organized by the FAO Food Systems Coordination Hub, ESCAP, and the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, as an associate event of the 12th Asia Pacific Forum for Sustainable Development.
