The EIOS Coordination Group (CG) provides strategic direction, oversight, and guidance for the EIOS Initiative. It plays a critical role in fostering collaboration, ensuring alignment of priorities, and enhancing the impact of the initiative. The inception meeting of the 2025-2026 EIOS CG term will convene at the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence in Berlin to introduce the newly appointed CG members to each other and the Hub, strengthen collaboration, and set strategic priorities for the next CG term (two years). This meeting will be held in person, with potential (select) remote participation options for CG members, delegates and observers who are unable to attend in person.

The key objectives for the Q1 CG Meeting are:

  1. Welcoming and onboarding new CG members
    • Introduce and orient new CG
    • Facilitate relationship-building and collaboration among the new CG and with outgoing members.
  2. Clarifying roles and responsibilities
    • Review the governance structure and roles and responsibilities of the EIOS CG.
  3. Strategic planning for 2025-2026
    • Review priorities of the EIOS initiative, aligned with the EIOS strategy, and identify areas where CG members can contribute.
    • Discuss and establish priorities for CG over the next two years.
  4. Sustainability and resource mobilization
    • Discuss strategies for the sustainability of the EIOS initiative and explore joint resource mobilization opportunities to support long-term goals.
  5. Strengthening partnerships and engagement modalities
