The Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research (the Alliance) is organizing a co-creation workshop on the Health Policy and Systems Research for Vaccine Uptake in Low- and Middle-income Countries. This workshop will be held in Geneva, Switzerland. This workshop is an activity of this new programme of work to advance scientific, policy and practice knowledge to improve vaccine uptake in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
The objectives of this programme are to identify policy gaps to better inform national-level governments on their immunization systems design, strengthen current national-level efforts to implement, evaluate and scale immunization programmes, amplify community responses to improve vaccine uptake, move beyond the health sector and improve data and metrics for immunization.
The workshop will take place from 18-20 February 2025. The objectives of the workshop are to:
- Present progress updates from each team, and refine teams’ research methods further where needed;
- Co-develop a programmatic meta-narrative, and adapt the analytical framework guiding this programme of work, for monitoring and learning purposes;
- Initiate plans to develop a journal supplement that contributes to the scholarship on using health policy and systems research methods to improve vaccine uptake in LMICs; and
- Engage with the broader global immunisation stakeholder community.
