The Integrated Training Service (ITS) of the Department of Peace Operations (DPO) is currently reviewing the Senior Mission Leaders’ course, a two-week programme designed to prepare participants to assume the roles and responsibilities associated with serving on a Mission’s Leadership Team.
The main objectives of the review are:
a) Review and update as needed the training objectives considering the need to widen the scope of the SML to reflect the evolving spectrum of global challenges and leadership challenges in UN peace operations;
b) review, and update as needed, the content required to meet these training objectives;
c) Review and update the Carana scenario, which is used extensively in exercises during the two weeks of the programme; d) Develop additional scenario-based exercises to meet the training objectives.
The review and validation workshop for experienced and former staff members has been scheduled at UNGSC, Brindisi, from 12 to 14 November 2024.
