We are pleased to inform you that the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the League of Arab States (LAS), in collaboration with a number of esteemed UN and LAS partner organizations, and in cooperation with the Government of Jordan represented by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MODEE), are organizing the second edition of the Arab International “Digital Cooperation and Development Forum (DCDF)”. The event will take place in Amman, Jordan, from 23 to 26 February 2025, under the slogan “Our Vision, Our World, Our Future”.
The DCDF2.0 comes to build on the success achieved in its inaugural edition in 2021 and is considered the first policy-dialogue platform in the world, specialized in addressing the concept of “Digital Cooperation” as introduced by the UN Secretary-General few years ago, and as evolved all the way until fully reflected in the Global Digital Compact (GDC), as one of the outcomes of the Summit of the Future in September 2024.
DCDF2.0 tackles policy issues related to digital development, digital economy, digital transformation, internet governance, artificial intelligence, data governance, and internet fragmentation among others, which have all been carefully articulated in the GDC. Te
At the regional level, DCDF2.0 aims at launching the complete set of mechanisms pertaining to deployment of the Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033 (ADA), adopted during the 32nd session of the Arab Summit on May 19, 2023, building related partnerships and continuing the ADA alignment with the GDC process, as well as supporting the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) process, including the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), and shaping their future beyond 2025.
The design of DCDF2.0 responds to the relevant decisions issued by the Arab Telecommunications and Information Council of Ministers (ATICM) in Abu Dhabi, in its 27th Session on January 18, 2024; as such, it includes the following segments:
1. The first High-Level Partners’ Conference on the Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033; February 23 to 24, 2025.
2. The fourth Arab High-Level Forum on WSIS and 2030 Agenda;
February 24 to 26, 2025.
3. The seventh Arab Internet Governance Forum;
February 24 to 26, 2025.
