The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction is the main global forum to assess and discuss progress on the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. The eighth session of the Global Platform (GP2025) will be organized and convened by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) from 2 to 6 June 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland. The event will be co-chaired by the Government of Switzerland and UNDRR.

The theme of the GP2025 is "Every Day Counts, Act for Resilience Today". It will constitute an important milestone between the High-Level meeting on the Midterm Review of the Sendai Framework (May 2023) and the five final years before the Sendai Framework ends. GP2025 will be held in a hybrid format to allow a more inclusive and sustainable meeting.

Who Can Attend

Given the multi-stakeholder approach of the Global Platform, participants from the following groups (but not limited to) are invited to register: Member States, Parliamentarians, Local Governments, United Nations systems entities, Intergovernmental Organizations, UN Major Groups, and other stakeholder groups.

Registration and Badging

The online registration for participants will open until 2 May 2025. Please see the attached guidance note below on how to register. Once approved, delegates will be issued a digital badge, which, along with a valid ID, allows access to the event premises. Digital badges are issued to the provided e-mail address and do not need to be printed, only downloaded to the mobile phone. Participants have to be ready to show their digital badge when asked.

Please note that badges are no longer being printed, and it is no longer possible to pick up printed badges as was previously the practice.

Please make sure to bring one of these IDs to the venue with you to activate your digital badge:

  • Valid national passport or ID
  • Valid picture identification card

For the Global EW4All Multi-Stakeholder Forum, please report to the information desk at the entrance of the WMO building to collect your badge.
