Similar to previous editions, the 11th regional VNR workshop will continue to provide a platform for dialogue and peer learning on VNR and sustainable development issues in the Arab region. As the first workshop in the 2025 VNR cycle, it will shed light on experiences of Arab countries that submitted a VNR at the 2024 HLPF and on preparations of countries that plan to conduct a VNR in 2025.
The workshop will provide an opportunity to present key findings of the recently published Arab Sustainable Development Report 2024 and reflect on implications for VNRs and 2030 Agenda follow-up and review more broadly. Participants will also be briefed on relevant outcomes of the Summit of the Future (22-23 September 2024).
The thematic focus of the workshop will be on SDG 16 "Peace, justice and strong institutions", building on the review of that Goal at the 2024 HLPF, and reflecting its centrality for development in the region.
توفّر ورشة العمل الإقليمية الحادية عشرة حول الاستعراضات الوطنية الطوعية في المنطقة العربية كسابقاتها، منصة للحوار والتعلم من الأقران حول المواضيع المرتبطة بالاستعراضات الوطنية الطوعية وقضايا التنمية المستدامة في البلدان العربية. وحيث أنها الورشة الأولى ضمن دورة عام 2025، ستسلط الضوء على تجارب الدول العربية التي قدمت الاستعراض عام 2024 وعلى استعدادات البلدان التي تخطط لإجراء استعراض في عام 2025.
وتوفر ورشة العمل فرصة سانحة لعرض أبرز نتائج التقرير العربي للتنمية المستدامة لعام 2024 والذي صدر حديثاً، والنظر في انعكاساتها على الاستعراضات الوطنية الطوعية وعلى عملية متابعة واستعراض خطة عام 2030 بشكل عام. كما سيتم عرض مخرجات قمة المستقبل (22-23 أيلول/سبتمبر 2024) ذات الصلة.
ويتمحور موضوع ورشة العمل حول الهدف 16 من أهداف التنمية المستدامة "السلام، والعدل والمؤسسات القوية"، استناداً للمراجعة التي تمت لهذا الهدف خلال المنتدى السياسي الرفيع المستوى لعام 2024، ونظراً لأهميته للتنمية في المنطقة.
