With a total of 14.2 million people in IPC Phase 3 or worse as of March-April this year, Afghanistan remains amongst the world’s largest food insecurity crises in absolute terms. However, several positive developments have led to a continuing downward trend in acute food insecurity in Afghanistan. Among these is the high level of humanitarian and development assistance in the country, including through IFIs, both in emergency agriculture and in food assistance.

This briefing will focus on sharing experiences and lessons learned on humanitarian, and development assistance and its linkages to peace in Afghanistan.
