The UNECE Sustainable Energy Week 2025 features several in-person events, including:

  • 12th session of the Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency
  • 21st session of the Group of Experts on Cleaner Electricity Systems
  • 12th session of the Group of Experts on Renewable Energy
  • 34th session of the Committee on Sustainable Energy

 

The Sustainable Energy Week 2025 will focus onbuilding resilient energy systems for a just transition in the UNECE region. This years Sustainable Energy Week is bringing together a diverse community of experts, policymakers and other stakeholders to collaboratively chart the course for developing resilient energy systems in pursuit of a fair energy transition. It will feature targeted discussions, sharing of experiences, formulation of recommendations, and presentations highlighting country policies and actions to accelerate a just transition across the UNECE region.

The sessions of the Groups of Experts will include thematic regulatory and policy dialogues and exchanges on renewable energy, energy efficiency in industrial systems and the built environment, full system costing for resilient energy systems, energy connectivity, and e-mobility. The three sessions will also feature joint segments, emphasizing the role of digital transformation for sustainable energy and discussing cross-sectoral cooperation, workforce adaptation, and access to affordable modern technologies. The Groups of Experts will further report on the implementation of their 2024-2025 Work Plans and inform the strategic priorities for 2026-2027.

The thirty-fourth session of the Committee on Sustainable Energy will review accomplishments since the thirty-third session and look ahead at the future work of the Committee in a very challenging environment. With a focus on just transition for building resilient energy systems, the session will also delve into sustainable mobility as contributor to the energy transition.
