The Departments of Global Communications, Peace Operations, and Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, are organizing the meeting for Strategic Communication and Public Information (SCPI) Chiefs in peace operations at the UN Global Service Centre (UNGSC) in Brindisi, Italy, from 10-14 June 2024.
The purpose of the meeting is to bring together SCPI leadership serving on peacekeeping and political missions for discussions and presentations on specific, topical themes and challenges within the overall ambit of our strategic communications efforts.
This year’s meeting will include discussions on the ‘New Agenda for Peace’ and the ’Summit of the Future; ’ addressing misinformation/disinformation; communicating on ‘Climate, Peace & Security’; crisis communications; the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse; the digital transformation strategy & artificial intelligence (AI); intermission cooperation; and other opportunities and issues of common concern.
