Secretariate Surveillance Data Management Meeting

Meeting Objectives

  • Map and provide detailed overviews of existing data sharing mechanisms and data management and analytics platforms available at regional and global level.
  • Review the inputs, outputs and platforms (including data sharing mechanisms and databases’ structure) of key influenza and ORVs databases e.g., FluNet, fluID, PISA, EQAP, virus sharing, shipping of reagents).
  • Map the strengths and gaps of current systems and identify current and future needs for improvement in view of the evolving role of the GISRS into the global surveillance for respiratory viruses with epidemic and pandemic potential (expanded GISRS).
  • Prioritize key areas of improvement on data management and analytics (including inputs, outputs, platforms, and mechanisms) for influenza and ORVs surveillance at regional and global level and develop associated remedial approaches.
