The meeting of all Regional Office Health Information Management / Response teams along with the Division of Health Emergency Intelligence and Surveillance Systems and the Acute Response Coordination Department in Geneva will be hosted by the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence in Berlin, Germany. The meeting will take place at the Hub from 28 August to 1 September 2023.
The global public health intelligence and surveillance functions for WHO are conducted through the continuous collaboration between the six Regional Offices and Headquarters. In-person meetings of the technical teams at the regional and global levels have been a critical part of ensuring the unity of this global approach.
Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, in-person meetings were held once or twice each year. The last global meeting was held in Washington DC in August 2019. Since then, there have been several changes in the functional capabilities of the different teams as well as a re-structuring of these capabilities in HQ.
