The clean energy transition is gathering pace across Southeast Asia, but unless we also accelerate regional cooperation to develop transmission lines, limits to connectivity could impede progress. To deliver a massive scale-up of secure, reliable and affordable renewable power and enable rapid electrification, we need new transmission lines crossing frontiers and time zones.

This Wilton Park workshop is convened by the Green Grids Initiative Asia-Pacific Working Group (APWG), established as part of a global effort related to COP26, with the objective of facilitating cross-border power system integration in the Asia-Pacific region, including increased investments in the transmission grid infrastructure required to integrate renewable energy generation, and increased cross-border trading of renewable energy.

The workshop will provide an opportunity for the APWG and key stakeholders to consider the technical and financing requirements of our priority projects, explore options to provide complementary support to the projects – without duplicating existing mechanisms – as well as plans and associated arrangements for the implementation of preferred support activities.

Please complete this registration in order to gain access to the UN building, note this is in addition to the Wilton Park portal registration.
